Academic Assessment and
Continuous Improvement
Valparaiso University is committed to a student learning-centered environment in which faculty, administration, and staff work to enhance student learning and experiences. The university’s assessment practices are designed to provide valuable feedback to units directly responsible for student learning and experience to ensure objectives are being met and to provide useful information regarding strengths and weaknesses to assist in planning and promote continuous improvement across units. As part of its mission, the Office of Institutional Effectiveness provides leadership and support in assessment efforts by working with the Committee on Assessment, the General Education Committee, academic deans, department chairs, and academic and student affairs program directors.
