A medical assistant works in a physician’s office or ambulatory care clinic providing administrative and patient care support to doctors and nurses.

Classes cover a broad range of topics including: medical terminology, legal and insurance policies, human anatomy, taking vital signs, and much more.

Office operations to include: greeting patients and visitors; reviewing and submitting charges for patient procedures and services; and providing general office and clerical support.

Medical Assistants assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician; interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording information on patients’ charts; and preparing treatment rooms for examination of patients.

Anyone with a high school diploma or GED can apply.
