Language Placement 2025

The first step to taking a Spanish class at Valpo is to take the Placement Exam

Complete the survey

When you complete the survey on your previous language study, click START TEST at the bottom of the screen to begin.

Take the exam

You have 90 minutes to complete the exam. Once you answer the last question, you have the option to review and change your answers to earlier questions by using the previous button. To submit your exam, click END EXAM.

Note your placement

SPAN 101 = 0 – 15
SPAN 102 = 16 – 37  
SPAN 203 = 38 – 49 
SPAN 204 = 50 – 69
SPAN 220, 230, or 231 = 70+ 

Once you complete the exam, you will see your results on the screen.
