Understanding Your E-Bill

Registered students will be able to view an e-bill statement once charges are posted in July for the fall semester, November for the spring semester and May for all summer sessions. These e-bills will list charges and anticipated aid for the upcoming semester. Please use these e-bills to assist you with the fall and spring payment plans and budgeting for school expenses. Log in to Student Finance to view your e-bill and current student account balance.

Parents who would like to view the e-bill and current student balances should first request access from their student, who must grant access (FERPA privacy laws do not allow Valparaiso University to grant access to parents without authorization from the student).

  • Log into DataVU.
  • Select Student Menu
  • Under Allow Parent/Guest Access, select Allow Access
  • Choose Select A Proxy
  • Select a pre-populated person from the drop down list. You may also select Add Another Person.
  • Verify email address for pre-populated person selected. Complete information for newly added person.
  • Select Type of Access
  • Check the box to Authorize Disclosure
  • After access is granted, the student will receive an email confirmation and the proxy (parent/guest) will receive instructions to login.

The ebill consists of:

  • Semester charges (tuition, housing/food, health insurance premiums if applicable, and other fees)
  • All accepted Federal, State and Valpo Financial Aid, from the student’s award letter, will also be listed on the ebill.
  • The ebill does not include credits for outside scholarships until they have been received by the cashier at the university.
  • Private loans will not show on the ebill, but will post to the student account the week before the start of the fall and spring terms, provided the financial aid office has received the loan prior to this date.

  • Fall – August 15th.
  • Spring – January 5th.
  • Summer Full and Summer I – June 10th.
  • Summer II – July 20th.
