Our Mission: Valparaiso University Health Center provides accessible, high quality, faith-based health care to a diverse student population, empowering them to maintain the physical and mental well-being necessary to pursue their academic goals.

The Health Center recognizes the unique needs of the Valparaiso University community and provides education, support, wellness, and health-care to facilitate informed choices, support positive behaviors, and encourage lifelong healthy lifestyles.

Compassionate Care on Campus

Fall and Spring Semester Hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8 a.m. – 12 & 1 – 4:30 p.m.
Wednesday 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. & 2 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Summer and Break Hours:
Monday–Thursday 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Closed Friday

Prevention and Wellness is the location of The Wellness Office, Victims Advocacy Services, Substance Use treatment and Peer Education.

The Main Office is located in The Fitness Center and is run by the Assistant Director of Prevention and Wellness Education, Natalie Muskin-Press.

  • Chronic and acute illness/injury office visits
  • Orthopedic care treatment
  • Concussion screening and treatment
  • Wound and burn care
  • Physicals (athletic, travel abroad, employment, and military)
  • Women’s wellness exams: including pregnancy testing and support, PAP smears/pelvic exam, and breast exams
  • Men’s wellness exams
  • Minor excision and laceration repair and other minor office procedures (simple suturing and adhesive repair)
  • Wart/lesion removal
  • Ear irrigation
  • Immunizations
  • Allergy shot administration
  • Management and storage of student allergy shots/collaboration with students’ allergists
  • STD screening and education
  • Point-of-care testing (rapid strep and mono, pregnancy, urinalysis, blood sugar, flu, and COVID)
  • Tuberculosis screening (IGRA – blood testing) 
  • Pregnancy testing
  • Urinalysis testing
  • Nebulizer treatments
  • Access to full reference lab services with valid provider order or Health Center visit
  • Pharmaceuticals on-site (over-the-counter and prescribed)
  • Orthopedic care supplies with Health Center visit (crutches, slings, braces, ace wraps, and casting)
  • Wound and burn care supplies with Health Center visit
  • Resource for health information or consultation
  • Health insurance assistance
  • Coordination of care with Counseling and Consultation Services
  • Coordination of care with Access and Accommodations Resource Center
  • Nutrition Therapy and Counseling, by appointment only
